how to diabetes reddit

Great article and I think everyone should read this, even if they don’t suffer from a chronic illness it would help them understand more about those of us who do and don’t always show that we are sick,  It does hurt on the inside and if it hurts to much it moves to the outside and that is when the loneliness sets in and the tears flow. Worse still if no one understands or cares, Karalyn chapman I have had counselling in the past n it dose not help me at all hun I’ve even been on meds for it n it only gets worse that bad infact I take over doses hun I had been ok for a while then since 29th September 15 I damaged my leg badly n then on the 23rd November 15 I was rushed to hospital as I nearly died n found out that I’m a diabetic on both tabelts an insulin my ability is now bad and I carnt hardly walk and got only half a cartridge in my left knee n I might need an op on my right to do the same I’m in so much pain day in day out n can not sleep n if I don’t feel hungry my diabetes get messed up to n there is no one that care plus i feel let down by the nhs to.
I was diagnosed with T2 at the age of 23, I was obese and sedentary, 15 years later I’m very fit and active and watch what I eat, my diabetes is completely under control and I have no issues. It can be done, it just takes effort, All I do is watch what I eat! And how many carbs! Excersize And portion of food! Excersize, Watch Watch Watch my diabetes…… I get depressed cause I eat very little and my sugar goes up!! Sometimes I just can’t win, I feel for you all I’ve had T2 for nearly four years all I get is a bit itchy & on occasions a bit of blurring in my vision had my annual diabetic eye check & all is well, but I’m very mindful of what can happen I lost my brother at Christmas as he had dementia brought on by his diabetes, ( long story) so I do get very worried at times, my brother was only.
I’m type2, I am totally sugar free & I gave up frying 20yrs ago, this allcos me to have an occasional takeaway in safety & with no worry, There is only one true mantra for the majority of us and it is easy to stick with – everything in balance and moderation, Me too! My eye sight has worsened in two years and now I have a small cataract on one. Keeping my sugars down to a reasonable range has been difficult, I love food. I am starving myself to keep my levels down,  Im frustrated, sometimes sad an depressed, coz i cnt handle this fight agnst diabetes and evrything that goes along with it anymore..ive been in this since 2007,but its gtn too much, Google Charcots Foot a VERY serious but little known Diabetic related disease . Disabling and utterly life changing and soul destoying . PLEASE Share with every Diabetic you know.
Magnesium works for my husband. Since I have diabetes and restless leg syndrome, I invested in a Revitive circulation booster. It stimulates the muscles and boosts circulation in my legs, it feels wonderful. Also great for diabetic neuropathy in my feet,  I have had restless legs for years but only Type 2 for about four years and had no idea they were connected! Wish the doctor had mentioned it, instead of dishing out nasty drugs (which I didn’t take!), I have had it since before I became Diabetic do you have anything I could use to stop it as my Quinine Sulphate is not working very well, magnesium tablets and a banana every day..and keep hydrated..drink a glass of water before bed.works for me,  If Metformin is so bad , why are Drs still prescribing it ?? I take it and I stay in the john all morning. Can`t lave the house til after lunch.
so far I have not lost any weight, however on the plus side I also have not gained any either. It is a daily struggle. Now I read the insulin and gliclazide can both cause weight gain. Metformin has never bothered me. Maybe because I was so sick at diagnosis. My body had other things to deal with at the time, Harold…it bothers me that some diabetics dont do anything…but then again it is something that few Drs talk to us about when we are diagnosed other than you need to get your eyes checked regularly….it is also very hard to understand when you cant see it…i am a type 2 diabetic and right from diagnosis have had my eyes checked annually…my optometrist said..every year…lgood, good you are doing well, until late last year when i had a small bleed n my right eye….a trip to the optamologist then showed damage that needed to be repaired by laser…i asked questions at each visit since my diabetes diagnosis 20 years ago but still never had any real understanding…..luckily for me my blood sugars have been well controlled for many years now and i should be alright now. I have recently been told by the specialist that this could also have happened as a consequence of having dabetes for so long..
terrible trouble sleeping, pain in my hips from taking atrovastatin, always cold, dry feet no matter how much i moisturise them, toenail infection. tiredness and coldness is worst. Aching legs too. Constant battle, Upper legs burning sensation. Tired. Not sleeping. Cold. No appetite. Weight loss. Had blurry vision but that is getting better as sugar level comes down…..just need to get rid of this burning pain, I’m taking Invokana and the frequency of bathroom breaks is insane. I know it’s due to high sugars which I need to work on but sometimes my sugars are normal are still I need to use the facilities too much, Charcots Foot Google it and be aware of this Diabetic related VERY serious but little known about disease .life changing and disabling PLEASE tell every Diabetic you know..
