how to diabetes occur

I’m doing a 3 day a week 24 hr fast. I have lost 20 lbs and I feel great! Can’t wait to see my next A1C! I chose this over diabetes meds,  Ive been T1 for over 40 years, i follow with my dr, my a1cs are in range, now im far from perfect,i mess up now and then but fasting like this is not good for anyone,  Me to has type2 and now I have to wear compression stockings for circulation but also helps with the neuropathy…they should jolly well work as they are, Type 2 and have bad days..joint pain and fatigue, visionissues and difficult to control sugars hard for people to understand that food and activity control your thoughts and life..but im grateful it could be worse.
I had a holiday in Cuba, not able to follow my diet while there I succumbed tummy upsets twice while I was there which really laid me low, on return I have suffered another couple of bouts, I know it’s not any infection , but eating food I was able to have before I went away. Some days I feel so ancient(68) lucky if I just make lunch and dinner, Now I understand the joint pains ,I never associated them with my type two diabetes. The fatigue is worse .I used to wake the alarm clock ,now it merges into my early morning dreams and getting out of bed is a struggle, Newly diagnosed. Neuropathy pain and all the different meds I’m on, I think contribute to bouts of depression and tears. It feels like no one understands, believes, or wants to help ease the pain. Not even the doctors at the hospital. Finger-pricking and controlling my diabetes with diet is the easy part, actually. All we need is someone to listen and get that we’re in pain, not a lecture.
Yes I get very depressed, feel worthless to everyone, start thinking why bother living… It usually doesn’t last long but prob happens 3 times a week or more, I wish there were more people informed on this disease every diabetic is different and we all have our struggles this is a very frustrating disease. People should try to understand more and be less critical, Iv`e been T2 for over 20yrs & have been on Novamix for 6, i have suffered a stroke & had 3 toes amputated, i have chronic Peripheral Neuropathy, i gave up smoking & drinking 4 years ago when i had the stroke, my BSLs are between 6.0 & 7.5 now. The struggle is real. Look after yourself, or you`ll end up lke me,
This is the side effect of Metformin, fulfilling the claim that it can also help lose some weight because it curbs your appetite. I don’t take it any longer, but when I first started taking it; it did a great job of keeping me from overeating because I just wasn’t hungry. Some negative side effects however can be very stinky gas and belches, bowel urgency and gastritis(an inflammation of the lining of the stomach) which can cause stomach and bowel distress and diarrhea, not for me. Metformin has not caused any reduction in appetite. May be the cause of the constipation that I have been, I was told that I’ll be on cholesterol and high blood pressure pills for the rest of my life for precautionary reasons but I’ve been off diabetic pills for 3 yrs, No kidding, on top of my diabetes, I am also in chronic pain from my shoulder which I need surgery for to correct and have been on really strong pain meds since the end of August but everyone that I work with keeps telling me but you don’t look sick, in fact you look great since you’ve lost so much weight – yeah from not eating, What sick.. no way I’m just a diabetic.. that’s what I get.
I’m in pain with other health problems and it sucks.. no body really understands unless your a diabetic yourself,  I too have diabetes T2 & keep getting emails to donate to the Diabetes Association…..Cost of medications & insulin are expensive WITH COPAYS alone, Insulin = 88.00 Metformin = 30.00, I had other meds, but had to quit the side effects almost sending me into death by complications from diabetes, No body understands that you are really ill if you have diabetes. They still try to get you eating sweets, chocolates, hefty great puddings full of sugar. I have other serious health problems too which affects the diabetes too. How to educate people, I too hate the neuropathy, the lows the highs not eating right. On top of that Parkinsons, Graves dis5ease, really bad back, and people love to tell me. If you would just start walking. I have to be pushed in a wheelchair. I can walk for maybe 10 minutes and I have to set down. They just dont get , Amen!!! On those days when my sugar levels are bouncing all over the place. I feel drained. My BFF does understand why I don’t want to go a.where. What do you say.
I’m on so much medication, all my illnesses started when I became diabetic thirty years ago, sometimes I wonder if I would be better off stop taking all the Medes, Just those of us who have diabetes really know all the pains and other sickness that affect us, So True ! If only people and places would educate themselves on this disease they would understand our daily struggles , I always thought I was a whimp. Thankyou for being honest and letting me know it’s ok to feel sick, Yes! I can’t stand eating! Hate to eat and my doctor told me to eat every 2 or 3 hours. I got so sick of eating. I did not realize it was the Metformin though. I have not found any way to help, I just quit eating so much, so, sugar levels are all over the place usually. I am also on a blood pressure medicine and did not realize taking that with Metformin can make you sick? I am so nauseous all the time!
